- Local innovators stand to benefit from grants of up to $25,000 through the McGowan Government and Landgate's location technology hub, SPUR
- SPURonWA grants are driving the WA economy - supporting local entrepreneurs and innovators establishing themselves in new and diverse industries, creating jobs of the future
Lands Minister Ben Wyatt has called for Western Australian businesses, start-ups and individuals working on innovative location-based products or services to apply for the SPURonWA grants, which opened today.
Landgate's grant program was established four years ago and for the first time, applicants from small and medium sized businesses are encouraged to apply. This change acknowledges that great ideas can grow, no matter the size of the business.
Since inception, 22 Western Australian businesses, spanning 13 industries, have been awarded grants. Of these, five have expanded operations either nationally and/or internationally - demonstrating that talent and innovative thinking grows in WA.
Successful applicants will also gain access to Landgate's location data, co-working spaces and in-house commercial expertise.
Past recipients have used the opportunity to develop mobile apps, secure intellectual property rights, obtain strategic advice, adopt technological advancements and launch new products to market.
Applications close on September 13, 2019. For more information and to read some SPURonWA success stories, visit Landgate's location and innovation hub https://spur.wa.gov.au/
