Landgate's February 2015 Business Activity Profile (BAP), released today, reports lodgements for all land transaction documents were above the three-year average for February at 26,213; with the month's average from 2011/12 to 2013/14 recorded at 25,972.
Total document lodgements for February 2015 increased by 2.86 per cent when compared to January at 25 483, however, a decrease of 1.71 per cent when compared to February 2014.
Search activities in February increased by 9.30 per cent to 150,146 when compared to the previous month's figure of 137 368, as were electronic advice of sale lodgements which increased 15.17 per cent from a seasonally low January.
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said, "The profile once again reports overall increases in new lots created, both strata and subdivisional."
"Year-to-date there were 21 386 new lots created which is an increase of 20.15 per cent when compared to 17 800 new lots at the same time last financial year," said Mr Bradford.
Landgate's BAP covers all property-related documents lodged with Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The February 2015 BAP is available on Landgate's website. It provides the monthly total of all documents lodged with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
