Landgate's February 2013 Business Activity Profile, released today, indicates significant improvement in property activity levels in Western Australia.
Landgate Chief Executive Mike Bradford said February's document lodgement figures were 5.3 per cent higher than the five year average for the month.
"There was a 9.9 per cent increase in activity this month compared to February last year, which equates to 2,420 more documents being lodged," said Mr Bradford.
"Of those lodgements, transfer documents increased by 22.1 per cent, which equates to 1,169 more transfers occurring this February than in February 2012."
There was also an increase in the number of strata lots created last month, which rose by 42.8 per cent compared to January 2013.
Landgate's Business Activity Profile covers all property related documents lodged within Landgate and is a barometer of the state of the property market in Western Australia.
The February 2013 Business Activity Profile is available on Landgate's website. It provides the daily average of all documents lodged, with sections detailing transfers, mortgages, caveats, searches and other categories of property related documents.
